These are not normal times. Theatre Frisco is proceeding very cautiously into producing this show with the health and safety of all involved our top priority. If the quarantine carries into June, the show will be postponed or canceled. Auditions will be video, however, there will be limited callbacks on May 14, county guidelines permitting. All social distancing guidelines will be strictly adhered to.

When the low-born Monty Navarro finds out that he’s eighth in line for an earldom in the lofty D’Ysquith family, he figures his chances of outliving his predecessors are slight and sets off down a far more ghoulish path. Can he knock off his unsuspecting relatives without being caught and become the ninth Earl of Highhurst? And what of love? Because murder isn’t the only thing on Monty’s mind….Winner of Four Tony Awards!

At the Black Box Theater located in the Frisco Discovery Center, 8004 N. Dallas Parkway, Frisco, TX 75034 off Cotton Gin Road east of the Dallas North Tollway.

All roles are open, 5 Men and 6 Women, British accent is required in all characters. Please do not underestimate the ensemble roles. The 6 member ensemble will be all throughout the show, each with multiple characters and featured roles.


Montague “Monty” Navarro – Tenor, Handsome, clever, charismatic, vulnerable and endearing. Discovers he is in line to become the Earl of Highhurst, and intends to kill off the family that stands in his way. 

Miss Shingle – Character Alto, Monty’s unexpected visitor. 

Sibella Hallward – Soprano, The girl Monty loves. 

Phoebe D’Ysquith – Soprano, Monty’s cousin, who Monty also loves

Email the following to, a video of at least 32 bars of 2 contrasting songs, at least one to be sung in a British accent. Also include a headshot, a resume and a completed  audition form. Audition forms are available at or can be requested by email.

Performance Dates:

July 24 – August 9, Friday and the 1st and 3rd Saturday Nights at 8:00, the 2nd Saturday and Sunday afternoons at 2:30 with an additional Saturday matinee at 2:30 on the 3rd Saturday at the Black Box Theatre in the Frisco Discovery Center. Actors will receive a stipend.

Rehearsals begin with a meet and greet on Saturday, May 30 for contracts, etc. After that, rehearsals will typically be Monday through Thursday evenings with a possible Saturday afternoon. July 3rd, 4th & 5th will be off.
